This Hocus Pocus Potion Float is a fun and festive Halloween ice cream float! A scoop of rainbow sherbet topped off with grape soda and garnished with gummy worms, it is the perfect party drink!

Using Gummy Worms as a Garnish

These gummy worms add a fun little twist to this Halloween ice cream float! You can use them as a garnish two ways.

If you want to go for a more sophisticated and elegant look, use a toothpick and spear your gummy worm like the next picture shows!

If you want a more creepy crawly look, you can have the gummy worms hanging out, as shown in the last picture.

Use different glasses to give your float a different look!

I chose to use some martini glasses as a fun way to display these drinks! Using different cups can really give your drink some extra oomph! If you’re serving this to a crowd at a party, I might use some short clear plastic cups that still show off all the pretty colors going on inside.

When I was a little kid, we used to make these Hocus Pocus Potion Float or Halloween ice cream floats every year! My mom used to put them in some Halloween plastic cups for us kids. But whatever type of cup you use they are sure to be delicious!

The Easiest Way to Make these for a Crowd

If serving a crowd, scoop your sherbet into the cups ahead of time and place on a large cookie sheet in the freezer. Then all you have to do is pull them out, top them off with grape soda and no one is waiting around! Plus this is a great way to keep the ice cream colder longer as the cups will be chilled too!

Feel free to experiment with other sherbet flavors! My mom always really likes to use lime sherbet so it was like a grape lime rickey ice cream float! I don’t think you can go wrong, no matter what sherbet flavor you use!

    Enjoy!
