At the culinary crossroads of spicy, sweet and tangy, you'll find this delicious fresh pineapple salsa! Chips and salsa are at the top of my most-loved foods list. And this recipe crowns my salsa favorites. It really is that good!
Do you prefer chunky or smooth?
Make it as a party appetizer, or for your crew at home. It's great on pork or fish. We love it with tacos too. And of course, chips are our favorite way to enjoy this salsa. You can make it chunky or smooth. They are booth amazing. Personally I prefer smooth salsa.
Can you make it in the blender!
I like getting all the flavors in every bite. Plus it's so easy to toss everything in the blender and presto! I like the even distribution of flavors in the smooth blend. You get sweetness from the pineapple, tang from pineapple and lime juice and heat from the jalapeños. It's a tasty combination.
Can I make this salsa hotter?
You can turn up the temp by adding extra jalapenos and leaving in the seeds (my son David's preference.) Just remember not to touch your eyes after working with jalapeno peppers. Some people prefer to wear gloves while cutting them. If you like salsa, this is one you'll want to try! It's similar to the pineapple salsa at Trader Joe's, only it's even fresher. We think you're gonna find a new favorite.

Pineapple Salsa
Ingredients
- 5 to 6 Roma tomatoes chopped
- One medium onion chopped
- 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped
- 1 20 oz. ounce can crushed pineapple, not drained
- ½ cup lime juice
- 2 to 3 jalapeño peppers seeded and chopped
- Two cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. (If you prefer chunky salsa, just chop ingredients and combine everything in a bowl.)
- Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least two hours so flavors can combine.
- Serve with tortilla chips or on top of the tacos, fish or your favorite Mexican dish.

Mine came out very green, is that normal? 😅 instead of a green yellow, it’s much closer to cilantro color
