    Scoop Peach Cobbler Title.

    Southern peach cobbler

Cobbler is a popular southern dish that dates back generations. We love to eat it warm with ice cream, or cold with milk for breakfast the next day. In the summer, fresh peaches are wonderful in this recipe for quick peach cobbler. During the cold months, you can capture the taste of summer by using canned peaches.

Can I use frozen or canned peaches for peach cobbler?

Yes! Fresh, frozen or canned... any way you slice it, this dessert is mighty tasty, or uh, PEACHY!

    Peach cobbler with frozen peaches

If you choose frozen fruit, don't let the fruit thaw. Substitute 1 pound frozen peaches for 3 cups fresh peaches.

    Peach cobbler with canned peaches

Using canned peaches, we prefer the fruit packed in it's own juice. Then you can use that juice in place of water in the recipe.

    Batter on the bottom

This recipe begins with a batter on the bottom. Then the batter almost magically rises through the peaches to create a buttery golden crust on top!

    Easy instructions

Our homemade peach cobbler is quick and easy. Start by melting butter in a pan while the oven is pre-heating. Next, mix the batter, then pour it over the melted butter in the baking dish.

    Peach mixture

Mix peaches with sugar and peach juice or water, then carefully spoon the peach mixture over the batter. Please don't stir the peaches and the batter. You want them almost in layers at the beginning.

    Bake away!

Simply set the pan in the hot oven and let it do its magic! If you watch through the oven window, you'll see the batter slowly rise from the bottom of the pan, right up through the peaches! The batter will transform in to a buttery golden crust atop your peaches.

    Ready to serve

And voila! You'll have a scrumptious peach cobbler right before your eyes! Next, all that's left is to serve it up! You can eat the peach cobbler warm or cold (We always go for warm!)

    So easy!

This is surely one of the easiest homemade desserts around. This is the best peach cobbler! We like to top it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's delicious. It's quick. It's easy. What are you waiting for?!

    Enjoy!

What size pan for the cobbler? I have 8x8, 9x9. I have larger pans too If I use frozen blueberries would the water amount stay the same? Also do I thaw the frozen berries? TIA.

        Hi Carole,
A 1 1/2 quart pan holds 6 cups. Your 9x9 inch pan should work fine for this recipe.

Frozen blueberries work well in this cobbler recipe. You donโ€™t need to adjust the water amount but donโ€™t thaw the blueberries.

        Hope that helps,
        DIanna

Yes, you can absolutely replace the peaches with frozen blueberries in this recipe!

My batter didnโ€™t rise through the peaches for some reason so itโ€™s a layer of cake then a layer of peaches on top ๐Ÿ™ I added cinnamon to the peaches.

Hi Gina! That's so weird, I've never had that happen before! Maybe the batter didn't have enough liquid in it? I wish I had a good explanation for you, sorry! But the addition of cinnamon sounds wonderful ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Rhonda, 1 cube of butter is 1/2 cup. We've updated the recipe to reflect that so it's more clear ๐Ÿ™‚

It says serving size 1? Is this a small dish or does it just say that?

Hi Hannah! That is a typo on our part! The recipe makes 8 servings, and 1 serving is about a 1/2 cup.
