Fragrant Mediterranean aromas will waft through your kitchen when you prepare our Pesto Pasta Bake! It's solid comfort food, best served with a mixed green salad and a crusty loaf of bread. You can make your own pesto or see our quick recipe for Fresh Basil Pesto which includes a video.
use a jar of purchased Basil Pesto. Once you've got the Pesto, this is an easy-as-can-be throw together dinner! Cook your pasta, and while it's boiling, cut up some grape or cherry tomatoes, get your cheese together and you'll be ready to assemble!
Toss your tomatoes and pasta in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan or casserole dish. Next, spread the pesto sauce over all and and stir it to combine. If you want to up the protein, you can add some chopped rotisserie chicken at this point.
The result isn't very attractive, but no worries! All will be well in the end!
Cover the pasta with Mozzarella cheese and then Parmesan cheese. You can add a bit of flat leaf parsley for garnish if you wish. Then cover and place in a 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes. All you really need is time for flavors to combine and for the cheese to melt.
Before you know it, you'll be serving up a plate of delicious Pesto Pasta. So easy, so good!
